Corporate and industrial websites
DEVNU / TECHNOLOGY / WORDPRESS
WordPress is the right tool when content workflow matters more than building a custom application.
Some teams need a familiar CMS, established editing tools and a content ecosystem rather than a custom backend. WordPress can be the lower-risk choice when plugins and page builders do not replace information architecture.
What does WordPress own in a project?
At DEVNU, WordPress is mainly used for corporate sites, catalogues and content that teams need to edit directly. Taxonomies, templates, assets, backups, updates and server configuration are part of delivery rather than merely assembling pages in a builder.

When we reach for it
Corporate sites, articles, lighter catalogues, many landing pages and teams with non-technical editors are strong fits. Mature plugins for commodity needs can reduce build and maintenance cost.
When we leave it out
Complex operational workflows, highly custom permissions, realtime state or heavy domain logic can turn WordPress into a fragile collection of plugins and hooks. A purpose-built system is usually healthier there.
Using the tool is easy. Operating it well is the real work.
- 01Minimum necessary plugin set
- 02Backups before updates
- 03Staging for risky changes
- 04PHP/Nginx limits appropriate to file workloads
- 05Predictable taxonomies and URLs
- 06Caching and image optimisation without breaking editorial workflows
The decisions matter more than the stack badge.
WordPress or a custom system?
If publishing content is the core problem, WordPress is often the better choice. If workflows, roles and operational data dominate, custom administration usually creates healthier boundaries.
Page builder or custom templates?
Builders provide editorial freedom, while core layouts and repeated components benefit from guardrails so consistency and performance do not degrade.
Existing plugin or custom plugin?
We do not rebuild commodity features. Custom development is justified when requirements are genuinely specific and an existing dependency creates more cost or risk.
Technology only matters inside a useful outcome.
Common questions about WordPress
01Does DEVNU only build custom systems?+
No. If WordPress solves the problem with lower cost and risk, using an established CMS is the better engineering decision.
02Is WordPress bad for SEO?+
No. URL structure, content, performance, metadata and internal links matter more than the CMS name. Excess plugins and poor templates can create problems, but WordPress itself is not inherently bad for SEO.

If the project needs this technology, the reason should be visible in architecture, performance, user experience or maintenance cost.
